Silvestre Weygel Yazı Karakteri, 1534’te bir Peter Flotner (yaklaşık 1485-1546) tarafından bir mecazi alfabe yayımlandı. Flotner’ın alfabesinde, çıplak figürler tek tek veya çeşitli harfleri oluşturmak için çiftler halinde yerleştirilerek yazı karakteri oluşturuldu.
